Quite a Fine Tasting and Dinner. And, Check Out These Brews!

One seriously good beer tasting/dinner  recently.  Met up with around ten serious beer folk in the Boston area at the home of a local beer buyer. Cranked out 2 types of deviled eggs.  One with creme fraiche, chopped capers, Dijon and dill-garnished with smoked salmon and dill. The other with brown sugar roasted bacon, mayo, chopped parsley, mustard, and a seriously good habanero/fruit based hot sauce (Dickies Sweet Burn) out of Norwell Ma.  Along with this we  baked up a round of hot pretzels and served them with a beer cheese sauce based on Wit beer, goat cheese and Dijon. Round 2 saw the classic Moules Frites-cooked in Gueuze-we opted for tator tots vs frites,  and they rocked! Finally, we did a Beef Carbonade using a Trappist Quad, pan roasted Crimini and sauteed spinach gnocchi. Plenty of Chimay cheese for dessert. A special guest: The elusive Duck Duck Gooze!  Here are a few of the Brews sampled at this event.  I’m going to get all these recipes into print as time permits.  Now planning the next event!
