2007 Castello Vicchiomaggio Chianti Classico out of Greve. Tasted today and really appreciated the bang for the buck here. Most wines of this pedigree go for $20 an up. Both lush and elegant revealing juicy cherry fruit, and very soft-though alive tannins. Can’t beat this for the price. The winemaker here has received a few awards, one being “Italian winemaker of the year,” from the International Wine and Spirits competition. Around 13 bucks!
