These wines are must finds! First off was the 07 Mourchon Cotes du Rhone Villages “Seguret.”
-The wine shows a deep purple hue with bright ruby on the edges. Mild bacon nose with subtle black pepper. This is classic, and takes you to the place. Saturated black fruits abound. Super balance here, as well as pristine ripeness of fruit. The wine is moderate and at once elegant. I’d like to be in Paris and have this accompany my Rognon de Veau! 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah.

Next up was the Mourchon 07 Grand Reserve Cotes du Rhone.
-This wine compares to many a Chateauneuf du Pape. It immediately reveals it’s vintage. Beautiful and deep violet in color. The aromas are powerful and yield discreet pepper notes as well as in your face Rhone, black fruits-some bacon fat. Explosive! All Rhone on the palate. Clean, and tannins are perfectly situated and will soften with time. This is a beauty of majestic stature, and one to search out before it is discovered and depleted. Trust me here!!
