I was lucky enough to make it to the most awesome celebration of all things Zappa on the face of this earth this past August (2009)! Bad Doberan, a cool little town located in the North of Germany, on the Baltic sea. This was and has been the locale for the past 20 years. Zappa alums contributed as well as an eclectic assortment of bands somehow related or in the genre. I am sitting here now thinking just how cool the whole thing was. People camping out, music all day long and into the night. Tons of unique and very local food possibilities. Beer and more beer. Euro in that it was completely peaceful. My only dis-appointment was when the guy at the crepe stand said, upon me ordering late into the last night of the fest: “The Camembert is finished.” Got to get back to some “Test Kitchen” Posts. More Zappa as it creeps into my brain. You are what you is!
