Been tasting through a number of new releases from one of my favorite importers The Shelton Brothers. This one from Norway made me crave for a pairing with Boston Baked Beans and Brown Bread with butter or cream cheese. Do you remember brown bread, In a can and sliced?
Nogne O Sunturnbrew Norwegian Ale
Redolent of prune juice in color. It exhibits little to no head, stick or lace. It is fruity on the nose with distinct notes of grain-especially rye. The use of grain is very well balanced. Vinous aromas in the way of stone fruit. Full throttle on the palate saturating the tongue with bitter hop, fresh rye bread, brown bread, molasses, and prune. A very unique beer that begs for beans and Brown Bread. Thanks Shelton Brothers.
