Here’s an old review from 2003 that I re-visited at dinner today. Quite a lovely combo! Frisse, Baby Spinach, Maytag Blue, Pear, Toasted Pecan, Sherry Vinegrette. Try this Beer/Food match and make your taste buds race! Traquair Jacobite and a Salad!

Awesome find! The beer pours a deep cola like color, the head vanishes quickly leaving little lace. The aromatics are awesome-vanilla extract, coriander and some dark roasted coffee notes as well as sweet cream. In the mouth the beer is medium bodied, refreshing and very complex and tasty. First up more roasted coffee with sweet cream, then cleansing coriander lending a wonderful spicy component to this ale. Had this with a salad of Frisee, Baby Spinach, Maytag Blue, Pear, Toasted Pecan, and a Sherry Vinegrette. Who say’s salad is for wimps? This went great! Try this Ale. One of the True Greats!
